*This position is Awaiting Contract Award* Job Description: Logistics Specialists prepare logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.
Responsible for routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, maintaining our records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of our storage facilities.
You'll coordinate shipping activities which adhere to state, federal, and international regulations as well as import/export requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue.
Locate material, requisitions material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
Confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials.
Arranges for internal transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments.
Examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified.
Monitor and control movement of material and parts along conveyor system, using remote-control panel board.
Compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using adding machine.
Compile report of quantity and type of material on hand.
Move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck.
Compile records in order to locate material using manual or computerized systems and maintain records.
Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to pre-determined schedules and priorities, and keeps related record, reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders.
Movement of materials between storage and training device areas.
Compares work ticket specifications with material at workstations to verify appropriateness of material in use.
Prepares and maintains property management documents and inventory records using computer to accomplish shipping and receiving duties.
Locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or other establishment.
Other property administration support tasks as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to inventory databases.
Familiarity with Inventory and Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.
Familiarity with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems.
Experience with shipping databases, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS.
Understanding of Shelf Life.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
Experience managing USAF property desired.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance is required.
Education and/or Experience: 7 years of experience with a HS diploma; 3 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; 1 year of experience with a master’s degree.
Experience must be in supply chain, procurement, logistics or another relevant field.
Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Basic understanding of Inventory and Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.
Experience with inventory databases.
Certification Requirements: Property Management Certification desired.
HazMat Training/Certification Forklift Operator Certification desired.
This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.
4(a), 60-300.
5(a) and 60-741.
